Evan & Gillian: A Blue Ridge Mountain Engagement | Virginia Wedding Photographer
There’s something about this mountain… it’s absolutely stunning BUT something always happens! I’ve had couples forget their outfits, clients getting lost, myself getting lost, racing storms, etc. and this time was no different but I don’t think Evan & Gillian’s engagement session could’ve been more perfect!
When Gillian first mentioned she wanted to bring a bike, we both had a vision and MAN OH MAN did it come to life! This dirt pathway engulfed in greenery and wild weeds was the perfect spot for their “beachy” but more cottagey/garden vibe! These picture don’t do justice for the amount of fun we had with this thing.. the first few pictures are super cute and curated but then, we get wild! Between dodging horseflies and falling off the bike over and over, I think the laughter only got louder as we realized the sun was setting and we had yet to make it to their main location!
Up on the cliff, it’s absolutely mesmerizing. The moment you see that view, you never want to turn your back to it. While the clouds rolled in, these two couldn’t stop snuggling and whipping her hair back and forth. Here there and everywhere, we ventured all over the rocks to get the best views for their blue ridge mountain engagement. And can we please take a moment for that emerald dress?! Like… PERFECTION against that backdrop! But just as I say something always happens on this mountain (for the worst), as we ascended on the overlook, waving lonely but proudly, was a worn American flag attached to a branch sticking out of the rocks. This took me by surprise because I had not seen this before but, it just so happens that my bride Gillian is in the Navy. It was the perfect surprise. With all of this joy filling their engagement session, I can 100% say I am so excited they chose me to be their Virginia wedding photographer for August 2024!
