Personal : Our Whale and Shark Themed Nursery | Baby Clark

Baby Shark do doo do do doo….

From the moment we first found out about our second pregnancy, I had an intuition. For some reason, I just knew our little rainbow baby was a boy. Fast forward to our gender reveal, surrounded by our closest family & friends (because of COVID) and the “mother’s intuition” I felt had been proven true all along. At that moment, there was no question, our nursery theme would be some sort of nautical or ocean theme based around the color blue. From navy blue to light blue, if you know my husband and I, those are our favorite colors so not only were we blessed in so many ways to have a boy but it worked out perfectly with the colors we already have incorporated in our decor around our house and our love for the ocean.

While we have several more things that need to be added to our nursery, this is the shell, the idea and the vision we created. We chose the smallest room in our house by accident so the dogs could share a room and have a place to feel comfortable & have their space when Roman arrives. While the nursery is the smallest room, we made sure we organized everything as best we could. What you don’t see are the BOXES and BOXES of diapers/wipes, the laundry that needs to be done or the strollers, activity mat, swing, bassinet, blankets, toys and many other things that finally have a home, tucked away and out of sight from clutter and very nosey dogs. I might share a blog of our house and how we stored all these things with little storage one day but for now, I wanted to focus on his room. His sanctuary. Our sanctuary. A room where we truly see and feel how blessed we are to have our miracle baby so close to being in our arms.

Splashed with the same amount of whales as there are sharks, we wanted our baby boy’s nursery to flow with the rest of our home. Along with that, we have an equal representation of bought and gifted items in sight. From the big ticket items, to the little things, each and every part of this journey is special and appreciated. Linked below are some of the items most people have asked about but if you want more information please let me know. Otherwise, we’d love to know your thoughts about our nursery! Our baby Clark, our baby shark… most importantly our baby miracle.

If you haven’t seen Tiktok, Instagram or Facebook, here’s our nursery reveal video with a song I sing to our little man most nights when we do our bedtime story. Yes, I have started reading bedtime stories before he’s born so I not only get into the groove but so he can hear my voice. So we have that time together as mother & son.
